Meet The Team
Michael Phelps – Managing Director/Solicitor
Mike’s role as Managing Director encompasses overall responsibility for the strategy of the business and its implementation. As a Partner for many years in a local law firm, Mike has always taken a keen interest in the management, development and strategic direction of legal practices of all sizes. His wealth of experience helps ensure CCR continues to provide a first-class service to its clients.
The team at CCR are no strangers to Mike, many of whom he has had the pleasure of working with over the years. Spare time is a bit of a luxury, but Mike enjoys his downtime by cooking, sailing, rugby, photography and playing guitar in a local band – he’s not a bad singer too!
Julie Reddish – Operations Director/Chartered Legal Executive
Julie joined CCR in 2009, and her promotion to Operations Director in 2012 was well deserved given her previous fee earning experience, running her own caseload of personal injury litigation ranging from straightforward RTAs to high value multi-track claims. Julie has a unique understanding of the challenges fee earners face when it comes to recovering costs and is passionate about helping clients maximise their recoveries. Her extensive knowledge of both claimant and defendant costs has established her reputation as a trusted expert, with clients valuing her attention to detail, practical approach and commitment to achieving the best possible outcome.
Beyond the desk, Julie swaps court appeals for the badminton court, playing in a County league. Music also features high on her list of interests, and she enjoys musical theatre, concerts and festivals. It’s just as well, as she too sings in a band!
Daniel Jackson – Director/Costs Lawyer/Senior Negotiator
“Dan the Man” – we are very proud to say – is definitely the man our clients turn to when it comes to negotiation. Dan’s focus is always on achieving the best possible outcome for his clients. Don’t be fooled by his easy-going, personable and professional manner – it belies his determination, attention to detail and perseverance in securing the strongest possible financial settlement.
Following his law degree at the University of Leicester, Dan joined CCR in 2010. Having drafted numerous high value Bills of Costs across a wide range of personal injury matters, Dan later chose to specialise exclusively in costs negotiation, where his technical knowledge and commercial approach consistently deliver excellent results. Dan qualified as a Costs Lawyer in 2014 and is a proud member of the Association of Costs Lawyers.
Away from the office, Dan enjoys playing golf, following Formula One, watching football and rugby, and getting out for the occasional run. Much of his spare time, however, is happily spent running around after his energetic young child.
Richard Aldrich – Costs Lawyer/Costs Budgeting Specialist
The Chancellor isn’t the only person who knows about budgets! Richard joined the CCR team in 2015 and specialises in preparing Costs Budgets for multi-track personal injury and clinical negligence claims, as well as civil litigation and legal aid matters. Richard also undertakes costs budget negotiations on behalf of CCR’s clients and regularly attends CCMC hearings to provide expert costs advocacy.
Richard qualified as a Costs Lawyer in 2010 and is a member of the Association of Costs Lawyers. Combined with many years of specialist costs experience, clients can be confident in his meticulous attention to detail, technical expertise and practical approach when dealing with complex matters and responding to Points of Dispute.
Outside of work, Richard enjoys photography, playing darts and following his local amateur football team, ensuring there’s always time to balance budgets with a few well-earned hobbies.
Hannah Seymour – Law Costs Draftsman
Hannah has been immersed in the legal profession from a young age, with her father having been a Partner in a local firm of Solicitors for many years and her mother working as a Conveyancing Assistant. Before joining CCR in 2010, Hannah gained valuable experience in financial and accounting roles, making her move into legal costs a natural progression.
Today, Hannah prepares Bills of Costs, predominantly for Judicial Review (Immigration) matters, whilst also overseeing the firm’s day-to-day administration and financial accounting. Her organisational skills, attention to detail and financial expertise make her an integral part of the CCR team.
For Hannah, family always comes first. She enjoys spending her free time on holidays and days out with her family, as well as dining out, playing the occasional round of golf and visiting the racecourse—although she wouldn’t recommend following her betting tips!
Lindsey Walpole – Law Costs Draftsman
Lindsey holds a Business Studies degree and previously worked at Cardiff University as a Business Administrator, specialising in finance and tendering procedures. Her strong commercial background and financial acumen enabled her to quickly develop her expertise in legal costs after joining CCR in 2015.
Lindsey is a highly valued member of the team who particularly enjoys the challenge of drafting complex phased Bills of Costs. She also assists with the preparation of Costs Budgets applying a thorough and methodical approach to every matter she handles.
Outside of work, Lindsey has a passion for live music and exotic travel. If she can combine the two, even better!
